Federal Shutdown: SNAP Benefits
News (Wednesday, January 16, 2019)
Please be aware that early issuance of February SNAP benefits will impact many of your patients. Due to the partial U.S. Government shutdown, Illinois is issuing February SNAP benefits to recipients' Link cards on or before January 20, 2019. This is a week and a half earlier than normal. This also means no other SNAP dollars will be issued for February. We want to get the word out so that families can budget their funds to stretch through February.
January benefits were deposited according to the normal schedule.
Attached to this announcement you will find a customer flier for SNAP recipients and the IDHS announcement. SNAP recipients do not need to go to their local DHS office or do any follow up; the funds are automatically deposited per usual.
