Free Beds Available to Qualifying Children Through Ashley Furniture HomeStore Hope to Dream

 Over the past 7 years Ashley Furniture HomeStore has provided 50,000 children in need with bedsets to call their own through its Hope to Dream program. If you serve a child from a low income background who does not have access to their own bed consider nominating them for this program.

What:

  • Those selected by the program will receive a twin mattress, twin slat bedframe, sheets, pillow, pillow case, and a coverlet
  • Bedsets cannot be returned to Ashley Furniture in exchange for cash or credit

Who:

  • Children in need of a bed who are between the ages of 3 and 14 can apply
  • Applicants must be low income, transitioning from homelessness, or facing other exacerbating circumstances to be eligible
  • Participating locations may be found here

How

  • A school social worker, case manager, church, and/or other charitable organizations must complete the nomination form found here
  • The nominating organization must have a relationship with the child nominated or their parents/guardian
  • If the nominating organization is a United Way of Metro Chicago Partner they can complete the nominating form here
  • There is no limit to the number of children per household that may apply for a bed
  • Shelter/institutional settings are not eligible to apply—the beds are to be used in private homes

When:

  • Application review and selection process varies by participating location
  • The bedset will be delivered to the home of the child directly by staff
  • Bedsets are delivered quarterly
